There's no alternate subway service for us (between Queensboro Plaza and 74th Street), but if it means more reliable service during the week, I agree, bring it on. Last night, the 7 stopped all service between Queens and Manhattan during rush hour, because of signal problems supposedly related to the weather. Good times. Yikes. There are alternate routes. And as you say, the work needs to be done. It's never a good time.
