Fantastic and thanks!I want to sign the petition as well.

If this express lane won't re-open until 2012, how about alternating trains (every other train is local or express...since they seem to come in pairs every 15-30 minutes, the first could be express, the one behind it local). I don't really know how the time differences would be-just throwing out an idea...

Todd

I've never had a problem with the MTA site. Are you sure it's not your ISP?

I can't think of anything to say other then the standard "I hate the MTA."

Oh wait, yes I can. WTF is up with the MTA website? It's out of service more then the subways!

If they're gonna let the F train stall and just stand there, isn't it a waste of effort?

Props to you, Ben! Keep posting and truthdigging to steal a phrase from Robert Sheer's website, and let the signatures add up to a force that effects the changes necessary to run the trains more efficiently and provide Brooklyn a subway system that it deserves.

Pretty amazing stuff. I'm going to print up a handful of copies and distribute them at the MTA Board meeting next Wednesday.

Beyond this issue, it's a matter of dedicated streams of funding for transit improvements. The congestion pricing isa step in the right direction, but greater city and state support for upgrading and expanding mass transit is a must.

Cheers Ben. Great post.
