Hemmerdinger has left a trail of disasters in his greedy wake. His big devoelpment “Atlas Park” is in foreclosure. He is biing sued by the owners of the building he manages, and where he keeps his palatial offices, and has a record of inheritance, not successful business dealings. Has this rich spoiled man even been in a subway? This was obvious payback from corrupt Spitzer for contributions.

Come now, it’s simply part of the MTA’s long-term overall plan to be even more out of touch with what the riding public needs. Hire people who have absolutely no need to use the awful system. Maybe he’ll issue us inflatable boats when the stations are flooded again!

It may be literally true that there is no need for someone in Hemmerdinger’s position to know diddly-squat about transit. But most people, if asked to step into such a role, would have done more study than he appears to have done.
