The subway system runs 24×7. How exactly do you expect them to maintain it? I live in Upper Manhattan too, and I'm never happy when the A is replaced by a bus. But what do you think would be the alternative?

This shuttle bus thing in upper Manhattan is killing me. There was a spate of it this summer, and it seems to be back. It's annoying enough that every late night from now till, like, the end of *April* there'll be shuttle trains north of 168th. (Lately there seem to be longer and longer waits for these.) But buses on the weekends, too? *While* the A is running local? It's insane. What's normally a 30-minute ride almost triples with all this crap.
