MTA behind schedule on Hudson Yards project

By

I haven’t followed the Hudson Yards drama too much around here. The land deal will help fill the MTA’s rapidly depleting coffers, and the 7 line extension makes for high comedy. But the rest of the project doesn’t interest me too much. I will note however that the MTA has missed the project’s first deadline. Bet you didn’t see that one coming. [New York Sun]

I got an email saying I won something like $354 million in some Austrailian e-mail lottery. All I had to do was acknowledge it. Realizing it was a scam, I ignored it.

MTA has a boatload of cash waiting for them from Tishman. All they needed to do was acknowledge them. It a legitimate deal, but they ignored it.

Politicians in Albany had $354 million in free cash for the MTA from the federal government. To get it, they needed to do was take radical steps to reduce congestion. They didn’t even bother to vote on it.

Maybe these guys are waiting for their award money to arrive from all of their foreign email lottery winnings. They’ve already given these Yahoos with GMail email addresses their bank account information, and the money should come pouring in. There’s no other explanation for passing up free money like that.

[note: I mean no disrespect to Yahoo or GMail, but when a "government agency" sends an unsolicited email from a free email service, addressed "Dear Recipient:", a thousand red flags should go up].
