		<description>The joke on Roosevelt Island is that the tidal energy that will be used to power the subway station will either increase the reliability of the escalators or make them worse.  We are not sure.  

It is unclear which systems at the IND station will be powered by the tidal energy plan and residents woudl expect that the elevators woudl remain on the main power grid to avoid stoppages and stranded passengers.
