		<description>I do not think the Feds should fund the MTA operating budget. New York is a comparatively affluent state. If we fail to properly fund our own transit system, why should the residents of other states subsidize us?

		<description>That&#039;s great, but what about getting some recurring revenue from the Feds for the MTA operating budget? It&#039;s long past time to end the funding disparity between highways which are funded in good times and bad, and rail, which has to beg and scrape for funds even during boom times.</description>
