These picayune issues that people have been finding are made even more trivial when you think of the more severe inaccuracies of signage in the system. I recently re-discovered this 2002 Signage Report by the New York City Transit Riders Council.

This makes me feel hopeful about my new venture as a freelance proofreader. Clearly the MTA needs my services.

These have me simultaneously ROFL and somewhat embarrassed for my city at the incompetency on display. You can be sure cities like London or Paris that take their transportation more seriously don't let these things slip through, or if they do, fix them right away. I know as New Yorkers we're supposed to take some sort of perverse pride in the dysfunction that we all put up with on a daily basis, but this is just too much.
