Regarding the most “dangerous job” versus deadliest from fatal assault on the job. Cab drivers are at more risk than police officers. We top the list. Cab drivers are 5 – 10 times more likely than an officer… to be killed on the job by an assailant. We may have one of the most dangerous jobs, but what is worse is… we have THE “deadliest – on the job assault” rate. There is a difference between getting killed from equipment failure or operator error, and getting killed by a determined fatal assailant. Cab drivers don’t go along with the premise that getting murdered driving a cab, just “goes with the territory”. Accidental death does… just ‘go with the territory’.

Other sources put taxi driving in the top 10 most dangerous jobs. But yes, it's not THE most dangerous. And yes, Bhairavi Desai has stuck her foot in her mouth a lot over the years. But considering what her position is, I don't expect anything more factual coming out of her mouth than any other union leader or politician.
