What about the construction of the 27 block subway on Second Avenue which is destroying life for thousands of people. This is the greatest of all fiascoes. They have tearing up the place for two years already and not one inch of the subway is complete. The whole thing was supposed to be finished in 2013 for 3.7 billion. When we will ever see a realistic price tag and completion date? We are supposed to pay exorbitant taxes to fund projects about the scope of which we are never told the truth. No journalists or politicians seem to care that common sense tells us that the 27 block stubway can't be completed until at least 2018 and for no less than 6 or 7 billion. Disgusting.

Of course we're behind the rest of the world--the rest of the world doesn't develop a third-rate transit system and say "that's good enough".
