Hey look, the 7 runs to Manhattan again…
Finally! About time but I miss the “Q” extendison to Astoria on the weekends supplying the lone “N” on the weekends.
I’m happy that they finished the 7 train weekends of hell.
They had to for the Mets games. There was a reason it ended last week.
Based on the lack of attendance on opening weekend, I don’t think Mets fans would’ve minded no 7 service anyways.
You’re saying this after they won their first two games, which is the opposite of what the Yankees did? The low attendance must have been caused by a combination of fan pessimism and (perhaps) some people’s ignorance of the fact that the #7 was back to normal.
Clearly 2 games = absolute guarantee of how a season will end. And I said what I said because of both Mets fans’ (justified) pessimism and the fact that opening day they had thousands of empty seats.
They sold out opening day. Granted they gave a lot of seats out for free, but it was full.
I didn’t say anything about how the season will end. I was giving them credit for a great start!
I was there yesterday buying tickets for games in July & August. What are you talking about – there were thousands, I repeat thousands of people trying to get into Citi Field 45 minutes before game time. It was almost rediculous navagating the enormous lines of game time ticket purchasers.
And look at SUNDAY’S results. It’s like the Mets became the Yankees. The trouble is, the Yankees became the Mets!
Rode the 7 today. Saw the “new” court square station. It is incomplete im telling you. The windscreens is not finished just plywood, construction lights hanging on the outside. I think that the crews just hurried 11 weeks. Hopefully they will fix it.
Actually, the station looks pretty good all things considered. Yeah, it’s unfinished, but the windscreens are up, with some plywood where more metal mesh screens need to go. Other than that, the elevator on the Manhattan-bound side looks great, the platforms are nice, and they opened it on time as promised. I don’t know what hanging construction lights you’re talking about. It might be incomplete, but would you rather have these minor things still hanging around, or a station that is still completely nonfunctioning? Kudos to the MTA on this one.
