Bowling Green-bound 5 trains run express from Dyre Avenue to East 180th Street due to signal work between 14th Street-Union Square and 42nd Street-Grand Central.
Why the 5 is running express in The Bronx since the work is taking place all the way downtown? This going be tough for the riders relying on the 5 running every 20 minutes.
Almost every weekend the 5 is running every 20 minutes. Give those riders on the 5 a break!
Can anyone explain why work on the Church Ave interlocking is forcing F trains to bypass Bergen, Carroll, and Smith/9th and G’s to terminate at Hoyt/Schermerhorn? Why aren’t they switching/turning around on the viaduct?
They must be working on the interlocking between the local tracks and the lower level layup tracks. for the G. The express track proceeds directly to/from Ditmas, so it avoids that junction. And then once you’re on the express tracks, it’s probably, easier to just stay express rather than switching back between 4th Av and Smith/9th. Plus I’ve seen them doing some minor work at bypassed stations.
Why does it say the N skips 49th street in Queens?
