New York City Transit and Bloomingdale’s are gearing up for a Friday ribbon cutting ceremony. Never heard that old saying. What does it mean?
I wonder if it was closed for the filming of Cloverfield.
The old saying is from the early years of the 20th Century when the El, the City’s trolleys and the Lexington Ave. IRT all stopped at Bloomie’s. All cars literally transferred to Bloomingdale’s.
Hmmph. I figured it was a play on the “All roads lead to Rome” expression. I guess it was the early 20th century equivalent!
