Hitching a ride on the Nostalgia Train

By

Last weekend, I went train-hunting. After standing around at the 2nd Ave. station for about an hour, two of my friends and I caught the Nostalgia Train. What follows are my images from that ride to Queens Plaza. You can still catch the Nostalgia Train this Sunday and next along the V line.

Great pictures. I wish I’d caught that train. Where do these old trains live? I know some of them are at the museum in Brooklyn (well worth the visit if anyone hasn’t) but I assume those aren’t these trains. Do you know what the oldest trains they can still run at all are? Can original cars still operate on these tracks or has the system changed too much?

I took my 7 year old son and his 2 best friends for a ride on it last week. Oh, the joy all us subway nerds had. But the real pleasure was seeing the faces of the regular folk just waiting for the F train. Many were too freaked out to get on!
