New Year’s Eve comes early

Somehow, someway, the 500-pound, 7-foot tall number 8 that will be part of the New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square is taking the subway from the Bronx to 42nd Street. According to Alex at Subchat, the 8 will take the 6 from Elder Ave. to 59th St. and switch to a southbound N, R or W train.
