I haven’t followed the Hudson Yards drama too much around here. The land deal will help fill the MTA’s rapidly depleting coffers, and the 7 line extension makes for high comedy. MTA has a boatload of cash waiting for them from Tishman. All they needed to do was acknowledge them. It a legitimate deal, but they ignored it.
Politicians in Albany had $354 million in free cash for the MTA from the federal government. To get it, they needed to do was take radical steps to reduce congestion. They didn’t even bother to vote on it.
