The Permanent Citizens Advisory Committee to the MTA doesn’t feel that the current MTA Board has enough transit riders on it. To that end, they want to see more commuters on the board. I’m all for it. Who wants to be on the MTA Board?

I certainly think that anyone on the MTA board ought to be a regular user of its facilities. I mean, would Dell put anyone on its board who never uses a computer? But I also think that MTA board members should be folks with a proven track record of Getting Things Done.
Ben for MTA Board Member!
I second that.
I read this in Time Out New York and immediately thought of nominating you:
“This is like volunteering on steroids, but there are three open volunteer positions on the NYC Transit Riders Council, which is the official advisory body to the MTA,” says Bill Henderson, executive director of PCAC. “Council members are appointed by the public advocate and the mayor.” For consideration, contact Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum’s office and make your case (212-669-7200).”
Is this the same thing you’re writing about? You should totally do it!
OK, OK, I will do it – as long as I get Peter Kalikow’s Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and the EZ-Passes it contains.
I love your blog and I can feel you are the real deal when it comes to passion for our subway. You know the ins and outs of the system and are a regular user. Ben for the MTA Board!!
