New MTA Website goes live

by Benjamin Kabak

The new MTA website is now live. I’ll have a full report on it when I’m through my current class shortly after 4 p.m. Stay tuned for more. Updated: The full report is now available right here. [MTA.info, SAS’ take]

The lower Manhattan map seems to be gone. 🙁 The one link I found on the new site doesn’t work either. Does anyone have a good link or know where I could get the pdf?

Thanks!

Woops! I just got it. I clicked the link and it took me to http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/.....an0911.pdf , which doesn’t work unless you take out the 0911 to make it http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/lowermanhattan.pdf …if anyone cares lol

The box showing the status of the lines, with many indicating “Good Service,” is stolen right from the London Underground site.

Whoa, am I seeing things, or is all of Transit, MNRR, and LIRR’s schedule data just available for download after filling out the form?

They’re promoting Google Maps transit directions over their own Trip Planner?

I can’t say I blame them, a lot of agencies are walking away from their own trip planners in favor of Google’s. I just wish Google had the “accessible trip” option, it seems like it wouldn’t be too hard to code (if “accessible trip” is clicked, remove all non-accessible stations from the query).

I think it’s an unfortunate move – the in-house trip planner is much better.
